One of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies is set to be played out against the stunning outdoor setting of Somerleyton Hall.
The Lord Chamberlain’s Men are bringing their version of The Comedy of Errors - one of the Bard’s earliest plays - to the grand location on June 6.
The all-male production tips its hat to the theatre of Shakespeare’s day when all roles would have been played by men - adding to the confusion and comedy.
It is stopping at the hall on a country-wide tour of castles, cathedrals and stately homes before hopping to mainland Europe in September.
The production is billed as “a riotous rollercoaster of a comedy that will keep you guessing and laughing until its joyous conclusion,” and desribed as “Shakespeare as it would have been - all male, in the open air, and in full Elizabethan costume with traditional music and dance.”
Tickets £10 and £15 via the hall’s website.
