Musicians playing across the borough

ROCK’n’roll band The Revolves have three gigs this weekend. They start tonight at Dutchy’s Tavern in Scratby, followed by The Plough and Sail, Lowestoft, tomorrow and a teatime gig at the Duke of Wellington in Great Yarmouth on Sunday.

Andy, Luke and Craig will be playing hits from the ’50s and ’60s by artists such as Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and The Beatles

ROCK covers band Stealer will play The Dock Tavern in Gorleston tomorrow at 9pm.

The band will also be playing as part of the pub’s charity music day on July 24. Proceeds will go to the Great Yarmouth Relay for Life team supporting Cancer Research UK and the Great Yarmouth Alzheimer’s Society.

LOCAL soprano singer Gill Whiley is to give a solo performance at St Andrew’s, Gorleston, today at a Celebration Concert by Gorleston Community Choir (7pm).

Gill is the choir’s technical advisor and has performed at many local charity events. She has selected two songs from her repertoire, Pipes of Pan from The Arcadians, by Lionel Monckton, and The First Music In May by Ivor Novello. The choir will sing well-known works from the world of classical, gospel, pop, theatre and film music.

Entrance is �7 and the price includes cheese and wine.
