AHOY my hearties, there's a chance to embark on a voyage of discovery at the Time and Tide tomorrow might.

The award winning visitor attraction will be opening it doors for free as part of Great Yarmouth's night at the Museums event.

Local rope expert Morris Jackman will be in costume to tell who is fit to be a sailor and tie knots like a seasoned seadog and the band Dead Reckoning entertaining with their sea songs and shanties.

And appropriately in what was once a herring curing works, The Silver Darlings Café is hosting a tasting of fish from around the world.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the For those in Peril exhibition looking at the human stories behind local ship wrecks.

Fantastic attractions at the museum include a recreated row from 1913, and displays exploring the town's history, from early human habitation to the present day with everything along the way from seaside holidays, the world wars, port and trade to herring fishing and curing industry.

The Time and Tide will be open from 6 to 9pm and is one of five museums in Yarmouth's fascinating heritage quarter giving visitors a glimpse of their wonderful collections.

Best of all, everyone collecting stamps from each participating museum will be entered into a draw to win a fantastic Heritage Quarter Family Pass for the 2008 summer season to return again and again to learn more about the town's amazing past.

This year's theme is A Taste of Great Yarmouth's Heritage, with a series of events and activities planned at each participating museum.

Try a tot of rum at the Norfolk Nelson Museum, sample ship's food hear curator Faith Carpenter give a short talk, Man the Guns at 6.30, 7.30, 8.30 and 9.30pm.

Over at the Tolhouse historian Nigel Amies is explaining some of the finer details of rarely seen weaponry in the dungeons and the fascinating Great Yarmouth Row Houses has jam and preserve tastings and mystery trail for children.

And what's all this then? Back by popular demand, local Police safer neighbourhood teams will be on hand with a collection of their historic uniforms.

Whether you are on holiday or have lived and worked in the town all of your life, this is a wonderful opportunity to come along and get a taste of what these fascinating historical places have to offer.

The Nelson Museum and Row Houses are staying open to 10pm and Time Tide, Elizabethan House and Tolhouse to 9pm.
