The Seagull Theatre will be breaking new grounds this weekend with a show featuring acapella music and radio plays - a genre which has never before been performed at the historic theatre.

The one night only - The TestostaTones: “Totally Wireless” is being performed at the Seagull Theatre on Sunday, August 23 at 8pm. Totally Wireless is the Lowestoft group's self-written, self-contained show and has proved very popular on the corporate circuit.

The show is based around their acapella music - specifically 1950's Doo-Wop but also sees them treat some modern songs to an acapella twist and features two radio plays from the long running and popular 1950 sci-fi radio drama series 'Dimension-X'; 'the Outer Limits' and 'Operation Tomorrow'.

Bim, from the group said, “Everybody is going mad for 80's and 50's nostalgia. It's a chance for the audience to see something a little kitsch and hammy with the radio plays and also gives us the chance to perform on home turf. We have been so busy lately that it's nice to be able to do a gig a little closer to home and the intimacy of the Seagull will really suit the show”

The TestostaTones, consisting of Stephen and Paul Amer and their cousins Bim and Richard Ainslie perform across the UK and have recently made bespoke jingles for Radio 2's Simon Mayo show, for which they performed live in the studio and the national enterprise campaign Make Your Mark, for whom they wrote and produced a jingle for a competition, which is being run in conjunction with the BBC and The Big Lottery Fund.
