Excuse Me - We're Here

By Margaret Luckett

ALL writers will be aware of the problems of this discipline but Margaret Luckett has overcome illness to pen this anthology, all the proceeds from the sale of which will go directly to Centre 81. This anthology was inspired by the Norfolk Broads, her family and her own personal observations of society and the resilience of the characters she met at Centre 81. The eclectic selection of poetry may be considered more appealing in that, springing from the heart, the poems do not all conform to an established rhyming scheme or adhere to a strict verse pattern. Many of the poems are tinged with sadness but a note of optimism pervades the entire collection of 39 poems. The book is beautifully illustrated with colour photographs and bears an enchanting portrait of the poet's daughter in 1971. Anne Edwards of The Yarmouth Mercury pays tribute to the author in the foreword. The book is available from Centre 81, 01493 852573 and from Caister Post Office/Offords. It is priced at just 4.
