Brass bands' busy seasons

The afternoon concert, starting 2.30pm, features a wide range of traditional music from marches to music from some well known West End shows.
It follows a successful spring and summer band stand performances in Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and Oulton Broad.
Guest of honour Kelvin Grogan announced his retirement after ten years of membership with Great Yarmouth Brass and over fifty years of banding experience in July.

September will be a busy month for members of the Norfolk Wherry Brass Band as they play three concerts in 14 days.

On Saturday, September 5 the band will be playing music from hit films in Stalham's St Mary's Church from 7.30pm.
Tickets cost �6 for adults and �4 for under 16-year-olds and they are available on the door or from the Happing Shop in Stalham High Street. Some of the proceeds will go to the church.
Then on Saturday, September 12 the band will be performing in a free concert at Smallburgh Church from 7.30pm in memory of founder member John Barry who died last March from cancer. Donations will go to charities chosen by Mr Barry's widow Josie.
Finally on Saturday, September 19 the band will perform at the opening ceremony of Neatishead's new Victory Hall from 2pm.
