Gang warfare, waged with custard pies, is about to break out in St George’s Theatre as young actors audition for parts in a fun musical show.

Bugsy Malone features the rival gangs of Fat Sam and Dandy Dan battling for power, armed with cream-shooting “splurge guns” in 1930s America.

The theatre is looking for a large company to play all the parts. Young people aged between 8 and 18 years are invited to come along on Sunday, July 22 at 10am to St George’s Theatre to audition. The production will rehearse from September.

Producer Debbie Thompson said: “The show is so vibrant and such fun, with gangsters, custard pies, humour and catchy songs.

“Every budding actor is welcome, no experience required, just come along and join in the auditions and have fun.”

Bugsy Malone is at St George’s Theatre from October 24 to October 28.
