IF YOU fancy treading the boards, this Sunday sees a pre-audition for two new shows to be performed by the Dragons Stage and Theatre School.
It comes hot on the heels of the Caister-based company's recent successful show, The Emerald City an adaptation of the family favourite Wizard of Oz.
Director Nigel Alexander said: “During February half term next year, the school will be staging the major musical by Stephen Sondheim, Sweeney Todd - the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, the schools' version that is. We are looking to cast this production and all young singers and actors are welcome, even those with no previous experience.”
Those interested should be aged between nine and 19 for both main parts and the chorus. In April next year the school is having a special show written for them based on the early books in the Chronicles of Narnia series.
Nigel said: “As well as including elements of the well known The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the story will cover the creation of Narnia and include several lesser known characters. A large principal cast is required and we will welcome all children and youngsters aged between six and 18 years of age.”
The pre-auditions will be held this Sunday at Caister High School Arts College. The first informal meeting will be for Narnia from 11am-1pm followed by a similar discussion and presentation of Sweeney Todd to be held between 2-4pm.
