A WELL-travelled clarinet player, who grew up in Great Yarmouth, is to run the rule over budding musicians from the county on Sunday.

Robert Plane will be adjudicating the Norfolk Young Musicians Competition 2010 at the John Innes Centre at the Norwich Research Park in Colney from 9.30am.

Mr Plane, who now lives in Cardiff will scrutinise the abilities of 15 musicians and singers.

Sohyun Park, Benjamin Pant, Giles Hickling, Joong-ha Park, Andrew Harnsley, Thomas Isaac, Nicholas Ball, Philippa Briggs and Nicholas Webb will be competing in the strings and piano section from 9.30am to 12.50pm.

The wind and voice section takes place from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and features Tom Clay-Harris, Katie Hewson, Jessica Allen, George Stronge, Priya Crosby and Charlotte Evans.

Entrance to watch the competition is free but organiser the Michael Badminton Young Musicians Trust is asking for donations to made.
