VOCAL renaissance music ensemble Siglo de Oro perform at St Nicholas' Church in Great Yarmouth tonight.

Since the group's inception in 2008, it has quickly gained a reputation for passionate performances of staggeringly beautiful yet rarely-heard works from the golden age of sacred polyphony, presented in an engaging and entertaining manner.

In June the group will be performing Songs of Sorrow and Salvation at three East Anglian venues. The programme is a musical exploration of the Holy Week narrative, using powerful music from the 16th and 17th centuries to depict the Passion and Resurrection.

The works performed will include Antonio Lotti's Crucifixus and Henry Purcell's Hear My Prayer, as well as motets by John Taverner, Tomas Luis de Victoria and Sebastian de Vivanco.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets are 9 and 8.

-Leading concert organist Carlo Curley will perform at Winterton Parish Church tomorrow at 7.30pm.

Born into a musical family in North Carolina (USA) in 1952, early in his career, he was invited by the President to play at the White House, and made history as the first classical organist to give a solo organ recital there. Today, he tours the world, having played in every state and province in North America and Canada, as well as Europe, Asia, Australia and Hong Kong. His recent concert tour of Japan with the King's Singers, was warmly received and a sell-out everywhere.

In England, Mr Curley has made a number of appearances for the BBC including organ spectaculars from the Cathedrals at Ely, Lichfield, Norwich, Guildford and Gloucester. Recently Classic FM broadcast live his concert at Westminster Abbey.

Tickets for tomorrow's performance are 8 and available from Sandra Laws on 01493 393480 or Father Adrian Ling on 01493 393227. Tickets will also be available on the door.
