Comedian Sean Hughes brings his “career defining” new show to St George’s Theatre in Great Yarmouth on Saturday night.

The show Life Becomes Noises is said to take comedy to a new level.

A spokesman said: “From the moment the lights come up on Life Becomes Noises, it becomes apparent that this is going to be no ordinary comedy show. Sean makes his triumphant return to the stage redefining his craft with a narrative that makes audience laugh or cry at the blink of an eye.

“Sean has been dealing with his father’s death in a way that only Sean can. Here is a comedy performance from Sean like you’ve never seen before, resulting in the feel-good show of the year. This hilarious yet poignant tale is a beautiful insight into the lighter side of dying and getting older, going to places that comedy rarely goes, highlighting how ridiculous life is and how quickly it can be taken away.”

Critics have described it as “emotionally honest...sweet, moving and often very funny.”

Sean has performed all over the world and, as well as being the youngest ever winner of the Perrier Award, he has also won a Fringe First for his short plays, Dehydrated and Travellin’ Light. Despite a prolonged absence from the comedy arena, he was recently voted No. 40 in Channel 4′’s World’s 100 Greatest Comedians poll.

He has many TV and radio credits to his name including writing and starring in the cult favourite Sean’s Show and a long stint as team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. As an actor he has had numerous roles in TV shows such as The Last Detective and Coronation Street. He appeared in Alan Parker’s film The Commitments, starred in the film adaptation of Spike Milligan’s Puckoon and performed on the West End stage in As You Like It with Sienna Miller. He has also hosted his own show on BBC 6 Music.

Sean has written two collections of prose and poetry including, Sean’s Book. He also wrote two critically acclaimed best-selling novels The Detainees and It’s What He Would Have Wanted.
