PUPILS from The Dancers School, Gorleston are busy rehearsing their routines for Gorleston Theatre Company's forthcoming production of Cinderella.

A team of 12 junior dancers will take it in turns to appear in the shows alongside Gorleston Theatre Company's adult cast members.

Director Jayne King said: “The company is pleased to welcome several newcomers for this production, including Nicole Palmer as Cinderella and Alex Staines as Dandini, while Prince Charming is played by Carlie Hurren, who really made her mark when she took the lead role in the company's spring production of 42nd Street at the Britannia Theatre in May of this year. Cinderella has a supporting cast of over 20 singers and dancers who are currently being put through their paces ready to join in the traditional pantomime fun.”

For their 2009 pantomime, Gorleston Theatre Company members are taking up residence at the Hippodrome, Great Yarmouth from January 21-25.

Jayne said: “It has proved to be an interesting year for the group, as this will be the second consecutive production which has taken them out of their traditional Gorleston performing area, but they will be returning to their usual venue at Easter, when they will be back at the Gorleston Pavilion for a songs from the shows style production.”

Cinderella will be performed nightly from Wednesday January 21 to Saturday January 24 at 7.30pm, with matinees on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 at 2.30pm, following the Hippodrome's own Christmas Spectacular.

Tickets are now on sale for “Cinderella” from the Hippodrome Box Office, 01493 844172, or book online at www.hippodromecircus.co.uk .
