AN acclaimed singer, who attended a school in Gorleston, will be stopping off in Norfolk next month as part of a UK solo tour.
Last year David McAlmont, who shot to fame as part of McAlmont and Butler in the 90s, dropped into his old haunt of Peterhouse Primary School to share his unique voice with the pupils.
And now to celebrate the release of his first live album and DVD he will be performing live at Norwich Playhouse on Thursday, March 17, with a set expected to include hits like Yes and Diamonds are Forever.
David was born in Croydon, Surrey in 1967. He has lived in London, Norfolk and Guyana and combines an affection for the great crooners learnt from his mother with an appreciation for pop.
David has also collaborated with an array of the UK composers including Craig Armstrong, David Arnold, Boo Hewerdine, Gary Clark and Courtney Pine.
He is currently working with Guy Davies on material for a new album to be released later this year.
Tickets, for the show, at 7.30pm, are 17.50. Call the Playhouse box office on 01603 598 598. Alternatively, go to www.davidmcalmont.co.uk
