FROM a cameo role in a movie to writing music for an Italian pop star, life is anything but dull for a Norfolk-born singer-songwriter.

Now Kirsten Symonds, who grew up in Belton, is looking forward to performing a debut gig in her home county next month.

Signed to Warner Chappell, the 27-year-old has recently gone into the recording studio with top producer Liam Howe.

Including her middle name in her stage moniker Kirstenana, she is performing at the Grapevine music night at Bedfords in Norwich on Wednesday, December 8.

A former model who worked in Paris and Los Angeles, Kirstenana now lives in Hackney, East London.

Since winning a music publishing deal she has provided four original songs for the soundtrack of an Irish independent movie called Come on Eileen in which she shared a scene with star Noel Fielding.

Kirstenana has also written a track for the latest album by Italian singing sensation Valerio Scanu called If I Was Made For You.

Although still to release a single, she has recently been in the studio with producer Liam Howe who has worked with Sneaker Pimps and Marina and the Diamonds.

Her love of music began at the age of nine when dad Roy bought her a keyboard and she has been performing for several years.

“I get back home quite a lot as my dad and brother still live in Norfolk and I am proud of my roots,” said Kirstenana. “I am really excited about playing in Norwich.”
