ORGAN music classes started 10 years ago by Allens Music Centre in Great Yarmouth have culminated in a celebration weekend in Peterborough.

Around 150 students and players of Lowrey organs travelled to the Marriot Hotel to celebrate the easy-to-play American machines which allow people to produce a tune with little effort.

Lowrey flew over three of their top artists who gave daytime workshops and evening concerts of all types of popular music.

The legendary Dennis Awe fascinated everyone with his tales of playing with the big bands and Liberachi whose spectacular coats he has purchased.

The staff at Allens joined in performing themselves and leading the fun by dressing up.

Lucy Curtin, Lowrey Magic Instructor, was said to steal the show with her eye-catching headdress. For as little as 2.50 per week pensioners and others can learn to play in classes of about ten people and get free music and tea and biscuits.

Not only is it said to be a great pastime but many people have made new friends and some classes meet and play in others homes.

So successful has this scheme been that Allens have been awarded the world top Lowery dealership shield for the last six years which is presented at the Music Dealers show in the USA each year. Allens is the sole dealership for all of Europe as well as the UK.
