Fans of the King are invited to enjoy a rock and roll weekend at the Vauxhall Holiday Park’s Elvis Festival.
The festival, which attracts Presley fans from around the UK and runs from September 6 to 12, promises to celebrate the singer “not just on the big screen or through his music” but through a range of Elvis activities, entertainment, guest interviews and the Elvis Marketplace.
The line up includes live music from ?Marty Wilde and The Wildcats, Rob Dee as Billy Fury, Colin Paul and the Persuaders, Glenn Darren & the Krew Katz and many others. Organisers do have one warning for the festival-goers, however, saying: “In our experience the majority of UK Elvis fans don’t wish to see people dressed in jumpsuits other than the King himself and so out of courtesy to them we have a ‘No Jumpsuit’ policy at the Elvis Festival although obviously this doesn’t apply to children.
“Similarly our event is to celebrate the life and music of Elvis Presley and we are happy for our cabaret artistes to sing Elvis numbers but not to try to impersonate him. There is, and only ever will be, one Elvis Presley.”
