A SINGLES darts competition will be held at the Lichfield Arms, Southtown, on Saturday, August 28. The event, with �100 prize money, starts at 7.45pm.

AN arts-based festival run by students will take place at Cliff Park High School. The AMP festival on September 23 is being organised by pupils for their diploma based on art, media and performance. Events planned are an art exhibition, fashion show, bands of all genres, singers, comedians and dance acts. There will be stalls and money will go to Palliative Care East.

A TASTY event is coming up to raise funds for Great Yarmouth's St Nicholas' Church Preservation Trust - a Sixties Meets Swing evening with a hog roast! The event is tomorrow in the church at 7.30pm and there will be a bar. Tickets are �5, available at the door. There will be live performances from members of groups who performed in Yarmouth in the 1960s and 1970s. The compere will be David McDermott. All involved are giving their time freely for the fabric and organ appeal of St Nicholas'.

MEDIUM Janice Brook visits Martham Spiritual Group for an Evening of Clairvoyance on Tuesday, 7.30pm. She works mainly in London and the South East, but was persuaded to visit by group organiser Norman Lewin. Tickets for the event at Martham Village Hall are �6. SLAMDOWN arrives at the Arena on Sunday for the start of a four-week summer wrestling season. The main event sees WAW world champion Zebra Kid take on Scott Fusion in a rematch from the show at the Ocean Room. Doors open 6.30pm with the first match at 7.30pm. New art will be on display at the Rumbelow Gallery in Great Yarmouth Library from Monday to the last Saturday of the month. Named Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining, the event is organised by local artists Gilliam Bramble and Jim Roberts. Admission is free, and the gallery is open from 9am-6pm from Monday to Saturday.
