AS part of Open Churches week St Margaret's Church, Hopton, and Saint Bartholomew's Church, Corton, will be open next Saturday and Sunday, 10-4pm. There will be exhibitions of paintings by Geoffrey Chatten at Hopton and John English at Corton and children's activities in both churches, as well as demonstrations of bead work and in Hopton, a model railway layout as well as a powerpoint charting the development of the outer harbour in Great Yarmouth.

In Corton there will be an exhibition of textiles. Both churches will be serving refreshments. Entry is free.

THE Broadland Hams of Ludham will be staging this year's pantomime - Babes in the Wood at Ludham Village Hall in early December.

The Hams are looking for cast and backstage members to re-create the magic of a traditional pantomime at Ludham.

Boys and girls of all ages are welcome, as are adults of all ages with or without experience.

There will be a follow-up meeting on Sunday August 29 at 4pm to read through the script and cast the roles.

SCARECROWS will be stutting their stuff at the start of Hopton Fete on Sunday, August 15,

with a parade through the

village.

The fete is jointly organised by Great Yarmouth Lions Club and Hopton Parish Council.
