FORMER British Army chief Gen Sir Richard Dannatt GCB, CBE, MC is to give a talk in Great Yarmouth to raise fund for the much needed repair to St Nicholas' Church's pinnacles and historic organ.

The event is on Friday, May 14 at 7.30pm with Sir Richard's talk entitled "A Look Back, A Look Forward. Reflections on 40 Years a Soldier."

The Salvation Army Citadel plays host to Another Evening with Mike Wallis on Thursday, May 13. Mike will be appearing in his show 'With Faith and Two Feet' at the citadel in Tolhouse Road, 7.30pm. Tickets, �6, are available from Christchurch Coffee Shop, King Street - all proceeds to Christian Aid.

Dancers will have the opportunity to practice their steps at the Great Yarmouth Marina Centre during its afternoon weekly Tea Dances. The session, which goes ahead every Thursday from April 22 to July 22 with no dance on June 3, will be hosted by Peter and Joy play music including ballroom sequence and popular Latin.

It runs from 1pm-3pm, and the �3 entrance fee also includes a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.

It's X-Factor night on May 23 with Danyl Johnson and Stacy Solomon, stars of the hit TV series.
