A SPECIAL Ghana evening of song, music and words will be taking place at St Lawrence’s Centre for the Arts in South Walsham.

Tomorrow night, from 7.30pm, people can enjoy the talents of the Chiron Ensemble, Felicity Devonshire (mezzo soprano) and Ana Cottrell’s storytelling. Items from Ghana on sale, with all proceeds going to the Ghana Storytelling Project, which supports communities in the country.

A SUMMER fete is being organised by members of the Great Yarmouth First Responders, who are looking for volunteers to help out on the day. It’s at the New Road Playing Field in Belton on July 17, from 10am to 5pm.

THE Family Den Cafe, at St James Resource Centre in Great Yarmouth, is holding a fun day and craft fair on Saturday, February 26, from 10am-3pm, with a range of entertainment, including acts Eastern Spirit, Greenacre School Choir, rapper Lacey and the St Nicholas Campanologists.

There will also be crafts such as ragdolls, painted glass, dolls’ house miniatures, photographs and paintings, ornate bottles and pottery. THE Gilbert and Sullivan Society will be holding a concert next month involving a range of classic songs. Performers will be singing selections from HMS Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance, Patience and The Mikado at St Margaret’s Church, Hopton (7.30pm) on Saturday, March 5. Proceeds are for church fund. Tickets are �5 for adults with refreshments, childen free.

CHILDREN enjoying their half term break will treasure the chance to participate in a Pirate Day at the Nelson Museum in South Quay on Wednesday, between 11am and 3pm, to feature face-painting, storytelling, pirate crafts and walking the plank.

HOPTON Village Hall Management Trust is holding a cash bingo session in the new hall on Sunday from 3pm and 5pm. Books of 10 games are �2, and there’s a �1 flyer plus a raffle. Refreshments available.
