A RETRO disco featuring 70’s and 80’s music will be held at the Green Gate Inn in Caister tonight, starting at 8pm. The Boogie Nites event will feature records from Sister Sledge to Wham.

AN Extend ‘Active’ exercise to music class providing gentle exercise for the over 60s will be held on Tuesday at South Walsham Village Hall at 2pm. Cost is �3 per session. An Extend Active class will then be held at Bracecamp Parish Hall, Ormesby St Margaret on March 30 at 11am. Cost is �3 per session. An Extend Seated class will be held at the Community Room in St Mary’s Close, Hemsby, on April 1 at 10.15am. Cost is �3 per session. FREE tickets are still available to watch the Essence of Elegance Community Fashion Show tomorrow at The Kings Centre, Southtown at 6.30pm. The fashion show is the culmination of eleven three-hour sessions in which local young people have learnt how to design and make clothes, and organise a fashion show event. The project has been delivered by Jankie D’s Community Workshops in partnership with 96k Talkback and The Kings Centre, with funding through WNF Small Grants. Call Steve on 07403199369.

A PATRIOTIC pub in Caister is hosting a family fun day in aid of Help 4 Heroes on Saturday April 30 – rounding off a week of national pride. Staff at The Centurion are hoping people will sustain their flag waving through St George’s Day and the Royal Wedding to support their event starting at midday. Attractions include a barbecue, hog roast, stalls, bouncy castle and face painting. A military band will open the fete at midday, a pool tournament starts at 1pm, a children’s disco at 2pm, Elvis is in the main bar at 6pm, and The Someones play in function room from 9pm. FUNDRAISING continues at Grosvenor Casino, Great Yarmouth, to help Lucy and Ben Brown from Lowestoft who suffer a host of serious allergies and need expensive treatment. A customer poker night takes place on Monday and efforts will culminate in a dinner and dance on April 2, tickets �25 a head. A 24-hour bike-a-thon last week raised �834 towards to the total. GREAT Yarmouth Gilbert and Sullivan Society is holding a promotion day at Yarmouth’s Market Gates on Wednesday. Tickets will be available for all their concerts including the next one on Saturday, April 2, at Christchurch, as well as information about the society.

LINGWOOD’S Spring Fair takes place in St Peter’s Church on Saturday, April 2. Home-spun fun includes cakes, crafts, raffle, stalls and games. The fun starts at 2pm, entry 20p, proceeds to church funds.
