VISITORS to a Great Yarmouth museum will be able to find out more about what life was like in Admiral Nelson’s Navy at a forthcoming event. The event, A Sailor’s Life For Me!, will describe what sailors ate, wore and how they fought and there will also be face painting, games, story-telling and craft activities. All the activities at the Nelson Museum between 11am and 3pm on April 20 are free. Admission is �3.50 for adults, �2 for children and �9.50 for a family of two adults and four children.

A CIRCLE Dance Workshop for accompanied children, featuring a selection of dances from around the world, takes place at Bracecamp Parish Hall, Ormesby St Margaret, from 10.15am to 11.45am on April 20. Cost is �1 per child and �2 per adult (each child must be accompanied by an adult).

THE Time and Tide Museum in Great Yarmouth has a series of events to keep people entertained during the Easter break. From making and decorating your own notebook this Sunday from 12pm-4pm to printing a colourful Easter picture on April 17 from 12pm-4pm, there will be a range of events.

SCARECROWS will abandon their bird-scaring work in wide open fields and head for Martham on Sunday, May 1 and Monday, May 2 from 10am to 5pm. The village is again staging its popular Scarecrow Festival which will see cloth and straw versions of characters spring up in gardens, as households mine their minds for inspiration and jumble bags for materials.
