AN ex-EastEnder is making a guest appearance at Hopton Holiday Village on Saturday.

Albert Square’s former car salesman Barry Evans will be shifting gear to open a 500,000 gym and lounge for holiday home owners on the four-star Haven park at midday.

General manager Dave Corlett said: “This is a hugely exciting new facility for our owners. There’s a state-of-the-art gym and full changing facilities on the ground floor with a small lounge, and a superb lounge upstairs with bar and breathtaking views of the sea.”

He added the new building also included a large decking area with the possibility of hot tubs being added in the future.

A total of 700 families and couples own holiday homes at Hopton many of whom live within easy reach of their luxury static caravans so they can go there regularly for weekends and for holidays to make maximum use of it.

Mr Corlett said: “We provide a full programme of social events for our owners including a Big Weekend every month, a Wine Club, and many special activities such as helicopter rides, the chance to ride on hovercrafts and special outings. So the new lounge will be the perfect venue.”

As well as playing Barry Evans in EastEnders, Shaun Williamson is a versatile and accomplished stand-up comedian, singer and presenter who appears in cabaret and working with a ten-piece band.

He is visiting between midday and 3pm.
