An artist who by his own admission is “trying to get happier” has mounted a colourful exhibition on the street where he lives.
Some 50 works by Daniel McGrath are on show in Skippings Gallery in King Street, Great Yarmouth.
Among his favourite images is a hit-and-run bride, but he is keen to depict happier subjects too.
Using mainly acrylics and inks his sometimes abstract works draw on music and the gangster underworld for inspiration with the Krays and Peaky Blinders among his subjects.
Album covers are also reinvented by his brushes and as well as a self-portrait there is also a likeness of Professor Stephen Hawking and his landlord, painted on dozens of electricity metre cards.
Having only come to art around four years ago, the 39-year-old’s rise has been swift and he now has his sights on London galleries to further his reach.
The exhibition at Skippings runs until Saturday with late night openings until 8pm on Thursday and Friday.
