POTTER Heigham's 30th country fayre is all set for Sunday week and organisers are promising it is going to be the biggest and best yet.BBC Radio Norfolk's popular early man Wally Webb will open the event at noon and there will be bands, dog racing, vintage and classic cars, tractors and steam engines, craft and model displays, police car demos and displays, East Coast Truckers display, donkey rides, Walcott Flood Wardens and much more, with fun for all the family.
POTTER Heigham's 30th country fayre is all set for Sunday week and organisers are promising it is going to be the biggest and best yet.

bands, dog racing, vintage and classic cars, tractors and steam engines, craft and model displays, police car demos and displays, East Coast Truckers display, donkey rides, Walcott Flood Wardens and much more, with fun for all the family.
Founder member Norman Harrison has spent most of his spare time, over many years, raising money for local worthy causes including James Paget Hospital, The Anthony Nolan Trust, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Ludham and Stalham Surgeries, by funding enough money to purchase various pieces of equipment urgently required, but beyond most budgets.
He said: “Last year, The Potter Heigham Country Fayre raised more than £4,000 and every penny went to those nominated, including the Diabetes Trust. Recently £1,000 was presented to Ludham surgery which enabled them to replace the rather antiquated surgical couch.”
In 1978 Norman and his team began raising money for charities by playing football matches. The first game raised over £600 and during subsequent years the funds got bigger by developing events including a regular donkey derby on the very same playing field in Potter Heigham. He and his team decided to set up a Registered Charity in 1982 which became known as The Midas Fundraisers.
Midas has a Committee of seven who organise the fundraising events during each year.
Mr Harrison said: “We are desperate to encourage more people to join us and keep Midas going.”
