THE final concert in the Great Yarmouth International Concert Series takes place next month and features some of Europe's finest young musicians in a concert of popular classical music.

THE final concert in the Great Yarmouth International Concert Series takes place next month and features some of Europe's finest young musicians in a concert of popular classical music.

The European Union Chamber Orchestra, joined by renowned pianist Freddy Kempf, will be playing at 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 27 at The Hippodrome.

The programme is one for classical fans old and new, with pieces known beyond the world of orchestral music being played.

It will begin with Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and move on to Piano Concerto No.14, before moving into the 20th century with Barber's Adagio for Strings, which has featured in movies including Oliver Stone's Platoon and David Lynch's The Elephant Man.

The performance and the series then conclude with Haydn's sombre and beautiful Symphony No 49 - La Passione.

Formed in 1981, The European Union Chamber Orchestra has gained a worldwide reputation as a musical ambassador for the European Union. It has an ethos of promoting European music and supporting young European musicians.

Freddy Kemp is Vice President of the King's Lynn Festival and is known as an explosive and dynamic performer.
