A MUCH-LOVED entertainment group has put its archives online for the first time in a bid to find new members.

The Great Yarmouth Gilbert and Sullivan Society has worked on creating its new website since November and is including memorabilia from the past.

Those accessing the website at www.gygilbertandsullivan.org.uk can view programmes which include past performances, photos and video extracts.

Covering the 1980s and 1990s,as well as much of this decade, it is hoped society's archive, founded in 1954, will continue to grow.

Brett Butler, 53, whose wife is a member, has been instrumental to the creation of the website and said it was part of a wider revamp for the group.

He said: “We're hoping that people will go on the website and see what the society is all about and maybe get involved.”
