Villagers and visitors alike will be treated to an all singing all dancing fete and carnival in Hopton.

The event is now in its 10th year, and the theme for this year’s festivities is musical theatre.

The fete and carnival takes place next Sunday (August 21) and is free to attend, but organisers say that donations are most welcome.

The Hopton Summer Fete and Carnival organised by the Great Yarmouth Lions Club and Hopton-On-Sea Parish Council.

The event is supported by the Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area Ltd.

As part of the theme, this year there will be a sing along to the songs to the well-known music from stage productions including Cats, Lion King, Chicago. The walking parade starts at 10.30am.

Mayor of Great Yarmouth, Cllr Malcolm Bird, will officially open the fete at 11am on the Recreation Ground, Lowestoft Road and judge the colourful outfits worn in the procession.
