THEATRE 101's next season production will be Cinderella with a version written by David Williams.

Spokeswoman Rachel Finnie said it is a traditional family pantomime with goodies, baddies, slapstick cookery scene and a happy ending at the Norwich Puppet Theatre later this month.

She said: “The Baron Hardup is concerned that the out of control spending of his stepdaughters is bringing him to the brink of financial ruin, and he has to resort to devious means to keep the wolves, in the form of cash and carry mortgage collectors, from the door. Cinderella is the put upon heroine who has to endue her nasty stepsisters Sciatica and Dyspepsia as well as a wicked stepmother.

“Prince Charming is also put upon, but in a different sense. He is under pressure to marry before the age of 21 or the crown passes to his Uncle Rupert, who believes he is the reincarnation of Gypsy Rose Lee.”

Cinderella opens on Thursday November 27 with an evening show at 7.30 pm and continues with a Friday evening show at 7.30pm on November 28. On Saturday November 29, there is a matinee show at 2.30pm and an evening show at 7.30pm. The final performance will be a matinee show at 2.30 pm on Sunday November 30.

Tickets are priced at £8 for adults and £6 for concessions (children, OAPs and UB40). A family ticket (2 adults, 2 children or 1 adult, 3 children) is available for £25. Seats can be reserved by ringing the ticket hotline 01603 469964 or by contacting the Puppet Theatre on 01603 629921.
