BABY boomer music will ring out again as the Gold Weekender announces a star line-up for an all-gold show to be held at the Vauxhall Holiday Park, Great Yarmouth, in March.
Confirmed to appear are The Rubettes, featuring lead vocalist Alan Williams; Mungo Jerry with Ray Dorset; Steve Ellis, the former lead singer with Love Affair; Amen Corner and a number of tribute acts.
Ray Dorset and his band Mungo Jerry have the distinction of having the first ever 33-and-a-third rpm single released. In the Summertime went to number one in 1970.
The Rubettes, from Essex, scored a number of glam rock hits during the mid 1970s including Sugar Baby Love and Juke Box Jive.
Steve Ellis was only 15 when he recorded with the Love Affair and the group had a rapid succession of hits in 1968-69.
Other Gold weekends are confirmed for later in the year and there is also to be a rock 'n' roll extravaganza and a Motown weekend which are both scheduled to be held in March.
