LIGHT up Christmas with the gentle glow from lanterns and make your own at free workshops tomorrow and on Sunday, December 4. Prior to the lantern parade in Great Yarmouth on December 7 there will be family activities and festive arts and crafts at Yarmouth library from 5-6pm with the Greenacre School Choir leading with some Christmas carols.
And participants can make a lantern at either of the remaining free workshops – tomorrow at Great Yarmouth Community Library or Sunday December 4 at The Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre, St. Nicholas Church, both 10.15-3pm.
All materials will be provided and no need to book. You will need about one to two hours to make the lantern and you take the lantern home with you. The parade will start at 6.30pm from the area outside Christchurch and head down King Street into the town centre before heading to St Nicholas Church where participants will gain free entry to the Christmas Tree and Crib Festival and where free refreshments will be available. As well as lanterns, Father Christmas, reindeer, a marching band and stilt walkers will be in the parade.
