LEGENDARY singer and guitarist Terry Reid is to appear at Great Yarmouth club, The Residence, on Friday, June 26.

Now based in the USA, Terry is over in Britain to play the Glastonbury Festival with US legends such as Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young, and is also appearing for two nights at London's famous Ronnie Scott's Club.

Terry, now 59, joined Peter Jay's Jaywalkers in 1966 and immediately went on tour with them in the Rolling Stones, Ike and Tina Turner, Yardbirds nationwide tour that year.

Peter Jay said: “It's a great honour to have Terry appear at my club - last time he was here in the area he sold out the Norwich Play House - he is one of the great unrecognised music legends with seven albums to his name. Recently Duffy named his recording of Stay With Me Baby as her favourite record of all time.”

Terry moved to the States in the early 70s and has written and recorded more than 100 of his own songs since then. Some have been used by legends like Marianne Faithfull and Crosby, Stills and Nash on recordings and recently Jack White from the recent hit band the White Stripes featured Terry's Rich Kid Blues with his new band The Raconteurs.

Tickets for Terry Reid and Friends at the Residence are available in advance at 15 from the Hippodrome's online booking system at www.hippodromecircus.co.uk or by calling 01493 844172. Showtime will be 9pm.
