SCARECROWS will abandon their bird-scaring work in wide open fields and head for Martham next month.
The village is again staging its popular Scarecrow Festival which will see cloth and straw versions of characters spring up in gardens, as households mine their minds for inspiration and jumble bags for materials.
It will take place on Sunday, May 1 and Monday, May 2 from 10am to 5pm.
Other attractions include decorated wheelbarrows, living scarecrows, garage, garden and car-boot sales around the village and on The Green.
Children’s entertainment and rides will add to the fun along with a treasure hunt, craft and charity stalls, spot auctions.
There will also be a flower festival in the Methodist Chapel and a cafe in the Baptist Chapel
