A star of Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow headlines the Comedy Night relaunch at St George’s Theatre.
The monthly, WCB Comedy Club starts up again Thursday, February 12 with Mike Gunn as the headliner.
Mike, who has just completed a sell-out tour with Lee Mack, has been described as “drier than dead man’s bones.”
Paul Dunn from WCB Comedy has said: “Mike is an exceptional headline act to kick off things in 2015. However, we also have four other fantastic acts including the brilliantly blokey Rich Wilson who is MC-ing and the critically acclaimed Justin Panks who is opening the night.”
There are also middle spots from Northern funny lady Joe D’Arcy and, from across the border, Lowestoft’s Scott Adams.
The monthly comedy night is attracting increasingly high profile headliners having sported Arthur Smith and Katherine Ryan in 2014 and with acts such as Jarred Christmas, Zoe Lyons and Sara Pascoe booked in for 2015.
Paul Dunn said: “The idea is to build up the monthly night so it can boast to be the biggest comedy night in the East. People are starting to realise that the second Thursday of every month is when we put it on and the five tickets for the price of four deal is bringing out groups of friends and work colleagues.”
