Bands performing around the borough

POLARIS plays live at The Tramway, Lowestoft Road in Gorleston on November 11 from 8.30pm. They will be playing 50s rock ‘n’ roll together with 60s/70s pop and rock music.

Gorleston heavy rock band Mastema will be playing two gigs this weekend. The band are at O’Gradys on Howard Street South in Great Yarmouth tonight.

They will be supported by three other local bands, Day Glow Buffalo, Want for Destruction and Red Secret.

On Saturday Mastema play Halloween On Fire, a charity event at The Edge Bar, Lowestoft.

Halloween On Fire features 20 acts, has an acoustic and an electric stage and will have music from 3pm to midnight.

Mastema have recently independently released their debut album, Close to Breaking. It is currently available at Mastema gigs and to download via their Facebook page.

It will be on sale at various other on-line stores before Christmas.

Since forming in 2008, Mastema have gained a reputation as one of the area’s must-see bands. With a set consisting of original songs and the occasional classic cover, they have firmly established themselves as one of the best live acts on the local rock scene.

Mastema are Chris Johnston (vocals), Dom Peters (guitar), Arron Clarke (bass) and Luke Clarke, (drums).

Classic rock covers band Stealer return to play popular Gorleston venue The Lord Nelson on Trafalger Road West on Saturday.

Stealer (pictured above) cover a mix of classic rock songs from bands including Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Jimi Hendrix and Toto. All are welcome to the gig, which kicks off just after 9pm.

Stealer are Gary Smith on guitar, Craig Humphrey on drums, Kev Anniss on bass and Chris Smalley on vocals.

Second Hand Blues will be launching their new album Bright Lights & Stereo this weekend.

The band will be performing at Club Iniquity in Sommerleyton on Friday night followed by the album’s official launch night at The Mariners in Great Yarmouth on Saturday.

Both gigs start at 9pm.

Saturday nights show will feature the first performance of all of the songs from the new album as well as some unrecorded new originals and the bands set of classic blues covers.The album will be available at both gigs for �5.

Phosphene will be playing a Halloween gig at the Sun Inn in Bradwell tomorrow, With fancy dress welcomed, the gig will start at 9pm and run till midnight.

A Halloween fancy dress party will be held at the Lord Nelson in Gorleston on Sunday.

Classic rockers Storm will perform songs by Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC and Alice Cooper from 7.30pm and admission is free.
