Bands playing around the borough

SECOND Hand Blues – a band fast becoming known as one of the UKs top unsigned rock blues groups – will be performing some special gigs over the next two weeks.

Tonight sees the band make their debut appearance at The Plough, Blundeston from 9pm.

This will be followed on Saturday by a return for the second time in as many weeks to The Lord Nelson in Gorleston where the band will welcome the new owners with a full throttle set with support from local rockabilly rebel rousers The Gutter Boys.

On Friday, March 11, Second Hand Blues will be performing at The Sheringham Social Club with premier rhythm and blues group Dr Feelgood. It is the third time the band have worked with these music giants, building a relationship they plan to continue.

The Dr Feelgood gig is ticket-only available from www.morimarupromotions.co.uk. The other gigs are free entry.

POPULAR music showcase Club Uniquity is hosting a series of events throughout March.

Starting tonight with everything from rock to rap at the Duke’s Head, Somerleyton. Acts taking part are Mastema, The Proposition, Ruby Dix, The Two Ukes and Destination Mars.

On Thursday John Ward and Mario Price will be playing a special Club Uniquity night promoting John’s new album. Entrance is free, the evening will include guest acts.

New York singer songwriter Laura Meyer appears at the club on Friday, March 11, as part of her UK tour with guests on the night Llewelyn and Danny Gunton.

Former Seahorses lead singer Chris Helme performs at the club on Saturday, March 12.

Chris will be playing the Seahorses hits plus songs from his new album.

Entrance is free for the other Club Uniquity nights from 8 to 11pm.

ROCK ’n’roll three piece The Revolves have two gigs this weekend. Saturday night they are at the Plough and Sail in Lowestoft, and Sunday from 5 to 8pm at Great Yarmouth’s Oliver Twist.

Andy, Luke and Craig will be playing hits from the 50s and 60s by artists like The Beatles, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley and The Doors.
