HISTORIC mills and drainage buildings at Reedham will be open for the first time since their restoration on Sunday.

The Broadland village is one of several locations across the county taking part in National Mills Weekend.

Polkey's Mill, Cadge's Mill, Reedham Marsh Steam Engine House and Seven Mile Diesels will be open from 2pm to 5pm - but access is only possible on foot, via Wherryman's Way, or boat.

The Reedham group is an important complex of buildings restored under the Land of Windmills project demonstrating the full history of the drainage of the marshes in this area.

The earliest building dates from the 19th century and the two mills involved on site are listed buildings.

In another National Mills Weekend event, a church choir will hold Songs of Praise at Thurne Dyke Drainage Mill on Sunday evening (5-7pm). The mill is open on Sunday only from 2pm to 7pm.

Other Mills open:

Great Bircham 10am - 5pm

Stow Mill Paston 10am - dusk

Denver Mill 10am - 5pm
