A SPECIAL Christmas Carol Concert is being held at St Nicholas Parish Church, Great Yarmouth on Saturday, December 4.

The 35 member Norwegian Choir Lardal Kantori will be visiting the town as part of the annual Christmas Fayre.

This will be the eighth year that the choir has travelled from the Lardal district in south-east Norway to perform in Yarmouth.

The choir’s conductor Kjell Hkestad said: “We really enjoy our trips to Great Yarmouth and the wonderful acoustics of St Nicholas Church makes singing there a fantastic experience.”

Town centre manager Jonathan Newman urged fans of the choir to order their tickets soon to avoid disappointment.

“The tickets are already selling well for this event and I would encourage anyone interested in attending not to leave it to the last minute,” he said. Last year the pews filled up very quickly and we ended up having to add more chairs at the back of the church.”

The concert starts 7.30pm and will last for approximately 90 minutes with a short interval.

Tickets, 7, are available in advance from The Priory Centre, Priory Plain, or on-line at www.gytcp.co.uk. Remaining tickets will be available on the door priced 8. For more information contact the Town Centre Partnership on 01493 745828.
