VISITORS and residents will be in for a treat on Saturday when the Lardal Kantori Norwegian Choir performs at St Nicholas Church.

This now annual carol concert, followed by a reception for the Scandinavian guests is a popular feature in the Great Yarmouth calendar.

The 40 strong mixed choir from south-east Norway are performing traditional Norwegian and English worded carols exclusively in Yarmouth as part of this year's Christmas Fayre.

This will be the Kantori's sixth annual visit to the town which has become a much loved destination for many of the choir's members, many of whom have made friends in the resort and regard the annual pilgrimage to the resort as an essential element of their choral calendar.

Conductor Kjell Håkestad said: “We have really enjoyed our previous trips to Great Yarmouth and the wonderful acoustics in St. Nicholas Church makes singing there a fantastic experience.”

Starting at 7.30pm, the choir concert will last for approximately 90 minutes with a short interval. Tickets are available on the door priced £5 or can be booked in advance from Albion News on King Street, Great Yarmouth, by calling the Town Centre Partnership on 01493 745828 or online at www.gytcp.co.uk.
