AUSTRIA'S biggest rock outfit, Pink as a Panther, come to Great Yarmouth on Sunday, September 6 to play a show at The Residence Club as part of their extended UK tour.

AUSTRIA'S biggest rock outfit, Pink as a Panther, come to Great Yarmouth on Sunday, September 6 to play a show at The Residence Club as part of their extended UK tour. The band has played stages with the likes of Alice Cooper and the Foo Fighters. Also on stage will be German funk/rock outfit, Die Unfassbaren, and local support from Canine Feline and Nausia. A gig is being held in Hemsby on Sunday, September 6 to raise cash for the armed forces charity Help for Heroes. Mustang Sally and Steve and Donny, Johnny and Gem are amongst the performers taking part in the show at Sea Breeze, Newport Road from noon to 5pm.

Metal fans are in for a treat this weekend as the Ripped to Shreds promotional team host metal Night II at the Never Turn Back in Caister. This promises to be even bigger and better than the last with two very popular bands from Norwich, Endsoteria and Hollow and also a Metal DJ set. The Ripped to Shreds crew consists of friends Gary Durrant, Craig Pearce and Lee Cheung who started the metal night when they realized there was a lack of venues in the local area for fans of heavy metal music. They have since used all of the profits from Metal Night I to upgrade the equipment in order to give the fans a night to remember. Doors are open at 8pm and there are still some tickets available on the door or they can be purchased at Better Leisure, Great Yarmouth.

Krazy John hosts a karaoke session tonight (Friday) at the Lady Haven, Cobholm from 8pm to midnight. The Mill Road pub also holds popular music jam sessions every Sunday from 4 to 7pm.

Local punk band the Rock 'n' Roll Geezers will appear at the The King William IV in Gorleston tomorrow night .

The band - Wilba, Lem Nobby, Ashtray and Mikie - will perform all the favourites from the 1960s to the present day.

The set includes covers from the Kinks, The Who, Rollin Stones to Glitter band, Dave Edmund's and T Rex finally landing there time machine in the Punk era of the late 70's and beyond.
