FOLLOWING the successful puppet shows of What's In the Box and The Elf and the Shoemaker, it now means there are likely to be more in the Great Yarmouth area later this year.
The Theatre of Widdershins and the Lempen Theatre Company brought the shows to Fleggburgh Village Hall this week. Sarah Foster from Creative Arts East said that the puppet performance are nothing like nothing previous shows.
“It has been an excellent half term entertainment as it is presenting an art form in a different way. The Brothers Grimm stories are well known but we can give a different spin to them using the puppets. It's the sort of show that anyone aged from eight to 80 can enjoy.”
She says that the children who will watch the show can come and meet the puppeteers and touch the puppets which she says gives a better interaction.
“Children don't have to go to a large theatre, they can go to their own village hall and see the performances there. We are already planning shows for October 2008 and for spring 2009.”
