BBC Radio Norfolk's popular panel game Should the Team Think ? is heading to Gorleston Pavilion on Friday, April 24 to help boost the East Coast Palliative Care Appeal.
The comedy quiz has been a big favourite with audiences since it made its debut over 16 years ago and it has helped raise thousands for charities and local causes.
David Clayton will, as usual, be in the chair. He says it is very much a homecoming for him as his career in entertainment began as a DJ at the Ocean Room opposite the Pavilion. On the panel will be the Norfolk entertainer, folk singer and squire of Trunch, Sid Kipper; the broadcaster, writer and defender of all things Norfolk, Keith Skipper, Look East presenter Carol Bundock and Radio Norfolk's man of sport, Chris Goreham.
Behind the scenes will be Tony Mallion who has produced and edited every edition since it started.
He said: “"I think I get the most fun. Not just laughing in the recording van during the live show but chortling later when I'm editing it for broadcast back at the Forum. Of course I'm working with headphones on and colleagues wonder why I'm chuckling away."
Tony recently retired from full time work with the station but is continuing to work on some projects, including the quiz.
It was devised by David Clayton and Keith Skipper over a pint or three as a one-off idea at the suggestion of the Hunstanton Princess Theatre. Since then its travelled all over the county.
David said: “It has a special atmosphere and the quiz just seems to work so well there. It will be recorded as a bank holiday special. Keith Skipper and Tony Mallion are both patrons of the Palliative Care Centre appeal.
Tony added: “We're delighted that such a special evening will help benefit this special cause and bring the centre that little bit nearer.”
