Director Jayne King said: “We are looking for people who have a real passion to do this show - the subject matter of Rent means that it needs a cast that will give it their all. It's not a show where we can get away with having people who have lots of technical ability but are unable to throw themselves into it.

“We are hoping to see lots of people turn up to audition who would love to be a part of this show; Gorleston Theatre Company already has many very talented performers among its members, but we are still hoping to attract new members as well. I think that anyone who knows and loves Rent will want to be involved with it in some way.”

Gorleston Theatre Company will be holding an open information evening at 7.30pm on Wednesday, November 11 in the Music Room at the Cliff Hotel, Gorleston, when they will be showing video clips of the show and giving out details of what prospective cast members need to do at the auditions.

Auditions are the following week on November 20 and November 22. You will need to be at least 16 years of age to audition. Anyone interested in auditioning must either attend the information evening on November 11th or ring Jayne on 01493 667769 to get more information.

A synopsis of the show and full details of the parts to be auditioned for are available on the group's website www.gorlestontheatrecompany.co.uk.
