IT IS not too late to enter a scarecrow for the Martham Scarecrow Festival which is taking place on the bank holiday weekend, Sunday May 4 and Monday 5.
Martham Parish Council is organising the first Scarecrow Festival for the village.
Organiser Julie Beales said: “We would appreciate donations of books, CD's, DVD's and videos, so if anyone can would they please contact Maggie, Liz or myself and arrange collection.”
On Sunday and Monday scarecrows will be on display at various properties around the village and on the village green. There will be a guide leaflet available from the caravan situated on the green. Other events at the festival include a treasure hunt, a family picnic, Songs of Praise at 5.30 on Sunday afternoon and charity and craft stalls on the green. The scarecrows will remain on display on Monday.
St Marys Church will also be open on Saturday May 3 from 2-4pm for visitors to view the crafts and hobbies.
A May fair will also be taking place on the village green on Thursday and Friday 6-10pm, Saturday, Sunday, Monday from 2-10pm.
