BRIT Award winning classical group Blake have been busy searching the UK for local choirs to join them on stage as part of their UK tour.

Wenhaston Girls’ Choir have won the chance to join Blake on stage at Marina Theatre, Lowestoft on October 15 to perform some of the groups well known classic-pop renditions, including Hallelujah, Jerusalem and Nessun Dorma – songs that helped catapult the group to global success after their formation using Facebook in 2007.

Wenhaston Girls Choir was formed over ten years ago to provide girls aged 12 to 18+ with the opportunity to perform in a professionally run choir. There are no auditions – if you love to sing, you’re in!

Under the directorship of Rob Goodrich Wenhaston Girls’ Choir aim to promote a love of singing and their repertoire ranges from ELO to specially commissioned works from contemporary composers. The girls are absolutely thrilled to have been selected and can’t wait to meet and work with Blake.

The Choir’s Manager, Julie Liddiard says: “After a fantastic season performing at Ely Cathedral, at our own Cabaret show, as well as at concerts and weddings, being selected to sing with Blake at the Marina Theatre is a fantastic reward for all the girls’ hard work. We are delighted to have been selected and are looking forward to being part of such an exciting performance.”
