AFTER the success of the first Spooky Express at the Bure Valley Railway last year, the event returns for the children’s half term holiday from Saturday, October 23.
The railway’s resident bear will take charge again at Aylsham Station to ensure nine days of spooky fun for children of all ages.
A number of trains will be operating each day from both Aylsham and Wroxham. A children’s competition to see how many spooky items can be spotted on the train journey, a colouring corner and a decorated Whistlestop Caf add to this halloween themed event.
To make this truly a children’s event, the railway is giving free travel to every child when accompanied by a fare-paying adult (maximum two children per adult). Susan Munday, business manager and organiser of this event, said: “Our aim is to provide an autumn day out at a cost which is affordable for families, especially in the present financial climate.”
