THERE is still time to take part in a charity fund walk. You will enjoy a spring Sunday morning walking through the lanes, fields and woods of the quiet and peaceful countryside in and around the beautiful Somerleyton Estate.

It is taking place on Sunday, May 18, when several hundred walkers are expected to take part in the Rotary Club of Great Yarmouth's now well-established annual Charity Fun Walk through the grounds surrounding the Hall.

Now in its seventh year, the walk - it is a very relaxed affair, and you can take as much time as you like to do it - attracts walkers of all ages from the surrounding areas of Norfolk and Suffolk.

The walk in fact comprises three different routes, with participants able to choose to do either the long one (about 10 miles), the medium one (8 miles) or the short one (6 miles) and you can start any time between 8.45am and 10.45am. Whichever route you choose, the aim is to combine leisurely enjoyment with fund-raising for charity.

Last year the event raised

around £15,000 for a mixture of some 20 local charities and the six walks

held so far since 2002 have raised

over £78,000 - and that does not

include money emanating from tax breaks.

The sending of walk fundraising packs has already begun and you only have to call 01493 750954 to get yours.
