St Nicholas antiques gala fundraiser
For a third consecutive year, an charity antiques gala evening is being held in St Nicholas Parish Church, Great Yarmouth, .
During the evening, which will raise money for the church Preservation Trust and for Palliative Care East, guests may have antiques appraised by well known antique dealers.
Peter and Valerie Howkins, Frank Hume and David McDermot. Malcolm Ferrow will also be in attendance.
John Stephens, Church Organist, will give a brief, illustrative talk of the problems with the organ and will give a short recital. The ticket price of 10 will also include a buffet. Not only does this event raise money for two excellent charities but, in previous years, it has been a great social event.
Charles Bycroft will be conducting an auction of several items which have been donated and anyone wishing to give an article to the auction or to the raffle should contact Malcolm Ferrow on 01493 663605.
The Palliative Care East Appeal has raised over 1.1m towards its target of 1.5m. St Nicholas Church is the oldest building in Great Yarmouth and has one of the finest organs in the country.
It is important that both are saved for future generations to enjoy.
