GREAT Yarmouth's stunning St Nicholas church will rock to the haunting sounds of local band Stone Angel on Friday night.

The folk band performance is amongst the highlights of the three-day Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre.

Stone Angel's enchanting melodies are inspired by the mists and mysteries of the Norfolk Broads and the lonely marshlands of East Anglia.

Music created by the six-piece band is full of diverse influences from early music, through baroque and jazz to rock. Instruments vary from guitars, keyboards, bass, and flute sitting alongside less familiar instruments including dulcimer, cittern, psaltery and crumhorn.

The concert, 7.30pm, is a chance to experience three decades of music ranging from long lost medieval gems, modern arrangements of traditional tunes and new compositions for a truly memorable performance in an unforgettable setting to get Christmas off to a very different start.

Tickets are available on the door priced £5 or can be purchased in advance from Albion News on King Street, by calling the Town Centre Partnership on 01493 745828 or online at www.gytcp.co.uk.
