GREAT Yarmouth Choral Society's Summer Concert will be on Saturday, June 19 in the magnificent setting of St Nicholas Parish Church. The music chosen includes two of the best loved choral works, for both singers and audiences alike - Faure's Requiem and Vivaldi's Gloria.
GREAT Yarmouth Choral Society's Summer Concert will be on Saturday, June 19 in the magnificent setting of St Nicholas Parish Church. The music chosen includes two of the best loved choral works, for both singers and audiences alike - Faure's Requiem and Vivaldi's Gloria. Also in the programme the choir will be singing Faure's Cantique de Jean Racine and Sing! which is a choral arrangement by David Willcocks for choir and organ of Widor's famous Toccata . Another musical treat is Handel's The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.
The society has engaged three professional soloists: Lisa Cassidy (soprano), Hilary Fisher (contralto) and Richard Winch (baritone). The leader of the orchestra is Kate Reynolds and the concert will be conducted by John Stephens.
